Privacy policy
This site is built to be useful without following you around. Here's exactly what happens to your data when you visit, in plain language.
- No tracking cookies
- No ads
- No accounts
- Anonymous visit counts
Who runs this site
whenistrevicleaned.com is an independent project. It is not affiliated with the City of Rome (Roma Capitale) or the official Fontana di Trevi website.
For anything related to privacy, write to privacy@whenistrevicleaned.com.
Visit statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages help them. It doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device. Visits are grouped by a hash of the incoming request that is discarded after 24 hours, so they can't be linked to you or followed across other websites.
For each page view it records the time, the page address, the referring site, an approximate location (country, region, city), and the browser, operating system and device type. Your IP address is not stored.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel processes this data on our behalf and keeps it for a limited reporting period that depends on our hosting plan.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. To deliver pages and protect the site against abuse, Vercel's servers necessarily process technical data such as your IP address and browser details, and may keep them briefly in server logs. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Vercel is based in the United States and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection. Read more in Vercel's privacy policy.
What's stored on your device
Nothing that tracks you. Only one small preference, and only when you use the matching feature:
The user_locale cookie remembers the language you picked, if it differs from your browser's language. It's kept for one year.
It's strictly necessary for a feature you use yourself, so it doesn't need consent. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
What we don't do
No advertising or ad trackers, no social media embeds, no accounts, no forms and no newsletter. We never sell data.
Fonts and flag icons are served from our own domain, not from third-party services. Weather forecasts are fetched from Open-Meteo by our server, so your browser never contacts them.
Links to other websites
We link to sources such as the official Fontana di Trevi website and Open-Meteo. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because we don't hold anything that identifies you, there is usually nothing for us to look up (Art. 11 GDPR), but we're happy to answer questions at privacy@whenistrevicleaned.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, for example the one in the country where you live.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, for example by adding advertising, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
